North Shore Airport is owned by the North Shore Aero Club. The club was formed in 1963, however flying activity at the current site actually started a few years before that.

The airport has two runways. A sealed 03/21 vector and a gravel 09/27, both runways have grass either side also available for landing.

The airport has commercial airline services provided by Barrier Air. Please check their website for an up to date flight schedule.

The airport is also home to the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) rescue helicopter. This helicopter operates outside the normal hours of operation for rescue purposes.
